Online Marketing Is NOT Easy…

There is absolutely no possible way you’re going make any money in the internet marketing business!

That was the introductory sentence to a real email promotion I received.

THEN…this was the ‘disclaimer’ for the same promotion:

STATEMENT OF OBVIOUS: Any results mentioned in
this email are not even remotely typical.

There isn’t a single video, seminar, email, “guru”,
system, home study course, or ANYTHING that will
make you (or anyone) money.

Chances are, you will lose money in EVERYTHING
you try …at least at first. That’s what usually
happens with me, anyway.

Most people who buy “make money” stuff
never make a dime. Here’s the deal:

You have to work your ASS OFF, make a lot of mistakes,
try lots of stuff (some work and some don’t), go back
to the drawing board, work some more, and THEN you’re
probably going to find success.

Usually, it’s worth it.

Oh – and the information contained in this email,
the video it recommends, the course XXXXXX is selling,
and pretty much everywhere else is totally WORTHLESS
until you make the conscious decision to apply it.

And you need to make the conscious decision
to keep trying when you don’t immediately
succeed.

Hard work and a good attitude are the most important
ingredients to your success.

Hard work being the most important.

Also – this is an affiliate endorsement. If you give
XXXXXX some money as a result of reading this email
and clicking the link in it, I’ll get a commission
…which I will immediately blow on shiny things such as
a big gold necklace like the ones worn by
gangster rappers.

If any of what I said isn’t cool with you, please
do yourself a favor and use the link below to
leave my list immediately.

Now that’s what I call a disclaimer!

The author is one of the early pioneers of the internet marketing business. He began his business amongst the laughter and ridicule from other entrepreneurs saying that this ‘internet thing’ was just a fad, and that he needed to get a haircut and a real job *(Pioneers venture out into the unknown in search of opportunities – Settlers find a nice location, build a cabin and wait for something to happen).

Well, he didn’t get a haircut, nor did he get a real job. He had an idea and worked his tail off making it a success. Like he says in the disclaimer above, “hard work is the most important.”

He now has a “list” that exceeds the population of many third world countries. He’s a young guy, lives on the beach in California, and spends a lot of time with his family and playing his guitar.

He enjoys a real passion for the internet marketing business and is a tireless maverick in our industry. He is constantly fine tuning his own business, trying new ideas, new products, writing and re-writing sales pages, updating videos, testing inexpensive offers verses high end luxury items.

He will be the first one to laugh at his own huge mistakes, and explain that they are too many to count. Yet, he is one of the most optimistic and successful leaders in our industry.

Why am I telling you all this?

Because I want to illustrate to you that building a business is NOT easy and don’t let anyone or any great promotion for magical millionaire software convince you otherwise.

When he wrote this “disclaimer” he didn’t want there to be any misconceptions about the hard work that will be required to be successful.

Doesn’t matter whether a brick and mortar business or on the internet, you’re going to have disappointment, failure, some really great successes, ideas that work, some that won’t, you’ll spend huge amounts of time on projects that are complete flops, you’ll buy software and promos that will save you time and make you money, others will be worthless, you’ll make money, you’ll spend money, you’ll be tired and disappointed, you’ll be frustrated, you’ll enjoy huge accomplishments…

There really is a pot of gold at the end of the (hard work) rainbow.  If success was easy then EVERYONE would be successful!

If it’s important to you, you’ll find a way. If it’s not you’ll find an excuse.

Make a commitment to your success!

Talk soon,
-Jonathan Right

    Hi Jonathan
This disclaimer is right up my street…I wish I’d thought of it!

When I read all the clap trap, finite, jargon, repetitive disclaimer/terms etc it is really refreshing to see one that tells it like it is!!!

One question though..Is it legal in the eyes of the FTC?? I think it would be as he is not promising or suggesting anything except failure unless one works, which is brilliant!

All that I can say is that I agree 100% with that!! It’s takes hard work and dedication if you want to have anything worthwhile in life, and that isn’t written in stone either, that you’ll make it. I’ve been there and done that, and i’m still searching for something. Truer words were never spoken! Never give up!

Hey Jonathan, thanks so much for sharing! So many people come online thinking that there is a magic button and it will lead them to riches. It is true, that you can be successful, but it does take work and promotion on a daily basis.

Focus, daily action, other’s focused attitude, gratitude, unwavering faith=formula for success
